On the superiority of cowboy over English riding boots

The main difference between the English and cowboy boots is that the English boot will make your feet look hideously unattractive. Like really ugly flippers. And horse riding is about looking good and don't anyone tell you othewise.

The tall English riding boot, ends just below the knee. The height prevents a rider's leg from being pinched by the leathers on the saddle - that must be the only good thing about it. They come in black, brown and even… Continue

Personality's disappearing act

Since I started writing this blog, I have come across several social network for horse riders and horse lovers that I had no idea existed - the HorseMind, Equestrian Life and Horse Network. Amongst members' questions I found a few that I can only summarise in 'My horse has a personality, please help!' And I thought it was a good thing!

Equus - what would you do with 7 years to spare?

Shopping online is all the craze, but until every single book on Amazon offers the 'look inside' feature, I will continue going to my local bookshops. Are horses delicious and why Horselicious?

I went riding in Poland two years ago. The guy who took us out had only two horses. Both escaped from a transport truck destined for Italy. I guess they must've had a premonition about their fate. They were absolutely gorgeous, healthy and fast as hell. I chose the name Horselicious for our network as a tribute to these horses and people who took them in. I hope you enjoy it and post your horsey stories here.

I agree that a horse without a personality is dull, dull, dull! My horse is full of personality and she's a fun, challenging and exhilarating ride - and I love her to bits of course! But if your horse's personality quirks could be dangerous - for y…
